Ease of Care

These are both easy care plants!

Lemon Lime Philodendron:

  • Relatively easy to care for and suitable for beginners.
  • Requires bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant colors.
  • Soil should be kept moderately moist, allowing the top inch to dry between waterings.
  • Benefits from occasional misting to increase humidity.

Neon Pothos:

  • Extremely low-maintenance and forgiving.
  • Tolerant of lower light conditions but thrives in bright, indirect light.
  • Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering.
  • Doesn’t require high humidity levels.

Propagation

These plants are both easy to propagate in moist soil or water. I prefer to propagate cuttings in water so I can monitor root growth!

Lemon Lime Philodendron:

  • Easily propagated through stem cuttings in water or soil.
  • Forms roots within a few weeks and can be potted once roots are established.

Neon Pothos:

  • Propagates similarly to the Lemon Lime Philodendron through stem cuttings in water or soil.
  • A quick and reliable method for expanding your plant collection.

How to choose between a neon pothos and a lemon lime philodendron

Both the Lemon Lime Philodendron and the Neon Pothos are excellent choices for indoor plant enthusiasts.

Your choice will depend on your aesthetic preferences, care routine, and the space you intend to decorate.

If you want bold variegation and larger leaves, the Lemon Lime Philodendron is a standout choice.

However, if you seek an effortlessly low-maintenance plant with striking neon-green foliage, the Neon Pothos may be your ideal pick.

Ultimately, the either of these two vibrant houseplants will bring joy and life to your indoor garden!
